Buying and license
How much does Vellora cost?
Vellora costs $290, paid once through the Shopify Theme Store. There is no subscription, and theme updates are free. Vellora is coming soon to the Theme Store and isn't listed yet.
Can I try Vellora before I buy it?
Yes. Shopify lets you try a paid theme in your own store before you buy it, so you can add your products and see Vellora with your content. While you're trying it, you can use the theme editor but you can't edit code or publish the theme. To publish it, buy it.
Can I use Vellora on more than one store?
A Theme Store purchase is licensed to the one store you bought it for. To use Vellora on another store, buy it for that store. Shopify may let you transfer a license to a different store in some cases. Ask Shopify Support about transfers.
Can I get a refund?
Shopify treats Theme Store purchases of third-party themes as final sale, so we can't issue refunds. That's why we recommend trying Vellora in your store first. If you think you were charged by mistake, contact Shopify Support.
Presets and demo content
What's the difference between the presets?
Vellora has three presets: Vellora (home goods), Sorrel (skincare) and Graphite (streetwear). They're the same theme with the same sections and templates. Each preset has its own theme settings, such as colors, fonts and corner radius, plus its own header, footer and home page layout.
Because every section is available in every preset, you can start with one preset and change its look in the theme editor. See Choose a preset.
Does Vellora come with the demo products and images?
No. A Shopify theme can't add products, collections, menus or photos to your store, so the demo stores' content isn't included. Until you choose your own images and products, sections such as the image banner, slideshow and hero collage show placeholder artwork. Replace it with your own content in the theme editor.
Why are my menus empty?
The header uses a menu called main-menu. The footer has two Menu blocks: Shop shows main-menu and Help shows footer. If your store has no menus with those handles, pick a menu in the header and footer settings, or create one under Content > Menus. See Navigation and mega menu.
Apps and features
Does Vellora work with apps?
Yes. Vellora is an Online Store 2.0 theme, so apps add their features without code changes:
- App blocks can go in the Product information, Featured product and Apps sections.
- App embeds, such as chat widgets and review pop-ups, are turned on in the theme editor under App embeds.
If an app asks you to paste code into theme files, check whether it has an app block first. Code pasted into theme files doesn't always carry over when you update the theme.
How do I show star ratings?
Vellora shows ratings stored in Shopify's standard product rating metafield. Install a reviews app that writes to that metafield, then turn on Show product rating under Theme settings → Product cards, and add a Product rating block to the product page. If no rating is stored, nothing shows. See Metafields.
Is Vellora fast?
Vellora is written to load little up front. Each section loads its own small CSS and JavaScript only where it's used, images load at the size the screen needs, and the animation library loads only after the visitor first scrolls, taps or moves the pointer.
Your store's speed also depends on your images, apps and custom code. Large images and many apps slow pages more than the theme does. See Performance.
Can I translate Vellora?
Yes. Every storefront text in Vellora is translatable. Vellora includes English. To change the default wording, use Edit default theme content in the theme menu. To sell in other languages, add them under Settings → Languages and translate with Shopify's Translate & Adapt app. To show a language selector, turn on Show language selector in the header. It appears when your store has more than one published language. See Translations and languages.
Customizing
Can I edit the theme code?
Yes, after you buy the theme. Before editing code, duplicate the theme so you have a backup. Where you can, use the theme editor instead: the Custom Liquid section and Shopify's custom CSS fields keep your changes in settings, which carry over to new versions more reliably than edits to theme files.
We support Vellora's own features. We can't write or fix custom code, but we can tell you which file or setting is involved.
Can I turn off animations?
Yes. Under Theme settings → Animations, you can turn off scroll reveals, drawer and pop-up animations, and image zoom on hover separately. Visitors who choose reduced motion in their device settings never see these animations. See Animations.
Will I lose my changes when I update?
Shopify copies your theme editor settings, sections and content to the new version. It also copies code edits when they don't conflict with the update, and tells you if it couldn't. Keep a backup before you update. See Updating the theme.
Support
How do I get support?
Use the support form. We reply within one business day, Monday to Friday. Include your store URL, what you expected, what happened and a screenshot or short video. See Get support for a full checklist.
What does support cover?
We help with setting up and using Vellora's features, settings and sections, and we fix bugs in the theme. We can't build custom features, edit custom code for you, or support third-party apps, but we'll point you in the right direction.
